Amo 2:1-2  Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime:  (2)  But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:

The need for instruction on public praying is universal. All Christians need help here. Why? There is the danger of dishonoring God and unduly honoring our fellows. We must never address those about us in prayer for our heavenly Father alone should receive our prayers. Remember in the Model Prayer the Lord Jesus taught His disciples to begin, “Our Father which art in heaven.”

What does it mean to “come to Christ?” What is meant by the phrase “coming to Christ?” Why are people encouraged to “come to Christ?”

The Lord, in this verse, has stated, in an unequivocal and inspired way, that “the death of His saints” is “precious in His sight.”   From this passage is made known that Jehovah, the God of salvation, has saints; and their death is precious to Him.  Our great question must be: “Am I one of His saints?”

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones,” (Proverbs 17:22). Also, Robert Young translated it, “A rejoicing heart doth good to the body: But a smitten spirit drieth the bone.”
